About Built Green Canada
Built Green is owned and managed by the Built Green Canada, Board of Directors. Membership in Built Green Canada is open to all members of participating Home Builders’ Associations (HBA’s) including builders, renovators, product suppliers or manufacturers, service providers, community developers and municipalities. Find out if your Home Builders' Association has joined Built Green Canada.
Currently Built Green Canada offers certification for new single family homes, row homes
and multi-story & residential towers.

The Built Green™ program includes mandatory Builder Training and third-party testing, inspections and audits.
Successful completion of the Built Green™ Builder Training is required to become a Built Green™ Certified Builder member. Only Built Green™ Certified Builder members can build a Built Green™ home. Look for the Built Green™ logo to identify a Built Green™ Certified Builder.
The Built Green name adds value to new home construction by promoting and recognizing the use of practices and products that represents resource-efficient and environmentally friendly construction.
The primary purpose of Built Green Canada is to encourage homebuilders to use technologies, products and practices that will:
• Provide greater energy efficiency and reduce pollution
• Provide healthier indoor air
• Reduce water usage
• Preserve natural resources
• Improve durability and reduce maintenance
The program concentrates on four areas of environmental concern:
• Energy Efficiency
• Indoor Air Quality
• Resource Use (including Waste Management)
• Overall Environmental Impact
