Reduced HD Max Fees, CSA F326, & SPAM
We hope all of you are staying well and safe—below are three updates of note:
I. Reduced High Density Certification Maximum Fees
In the time of COVID-19 and the uncertainty this has brought, we have made the decision to reduce our high density certification fee maximum. While our $100 per unit remains intact, our current maximum is up to $20,000. However, we are decreasing this maximum from $20,000 to $10,000.
Despite high density enrolments being up from last year, we are committed to working alongside industry: recognizing the economic impacts from this pandemic, this is a gesture to acknowledge the challenges and risks faced by multi-family builders, in particular.
** For those who have paid over the $10,000 ceiling during 2019 and 2020, we will be contacting you directly, and reimbursing you accordingly. **
II. Platinum Certification Requirement Highlighted
As more and more of our members are earning BUILT GREEN® Platinum certification, we want to highlight checklist item 4.7—a requirement for platinum level, which is found in the Ventilation section of our checklist.
Item 4.7 Ventilation system is installed according to CSA Standard F326.
Installation of the HVAC system should be carried out in accordance with CSA Standard F326-M91: Residential Mechanical Ventilation Systems as recommended by the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). A properly installed ventilation system helps ensure the health and comfort of the building occupants, as well as the proper operation and longevity of the building’s mechanical equipment.
We have attached the CSA Standard F326 form and encourage you to have this completed by your mechanicals installer at the time of installation. The installer should be able to complete the form in 20 minutes.
III. SPAM
Two of our builder members have forwarded emails from a Sydney Raine at Expo Connect ([email protected]) titled “Built Green Canada – B2B Leads”. Within the email, Sydney claims that they have Built Green Canada’s email list available. This did not originate from us, nor did we authorize such an email—it is SPAM. This URL is registered through GoDaddy, and we have since reported this abuse.
